Outdoor Numeracy - Value of a Digit (September 2026)
Primary 5/6 took their Numeracy outside today. They had to navigate around the whole outdoor space to find the ten separate hooks which all had 4 or 5 digit numbers on them. Each number had one of the digits coloured red. P5/6 have been learning about the value of each digit. On their clipboards they had to record the value of each digit beside the correct numbered hook. They had great fun and enjoyed being active and outside in nature. All while reinforcing some key learning in their understanding of numbers from the classroom.
