VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations

P6/7 trip to Share Discovery Village

Day 3

We were up bright and early to finish packing bags, stripping beds and tidying rooms before breakfast. We then headed out on our last activities of the trip. The two activities were archery and bushcraft. For the bushcraft children had to work in teams to make a shelter then got a turn at using flint and steel to make sparks and then toasted marshmallows on the open fire. It was a really lovely way to round off the trip. We then headed back for a lunch of saysages or chicken nuggest and chips. The bus was there on time and we loaded it up and headed back to school arriving just before 3.00pm. Over the course of the 3 days the children were excellent. They behaved well, faced fears, had so much fun and made memories for life.

Day 2

Everyone was up and bright and early around 7.15am for breakfast of toast and cereal at 8.00am. We spent the entire day out on the lake, brokem up by lunch. Children did one of two activities either side of lunch. Stand up paddle boarding and kayaking. Though the second session basically turned into a big session of jumping into the lake and splashing each other. Everyone had a great time and certainly made some great memories. After lunch we had one further activity which was indoor fusball. Think table football but inflatable and children replacing the figures on the table. The weather has continued to be amazing. CInstant reminders of sun screen has appeared to have fallen on a few deaf ears but overall everyone is showering, brushing teeth and putting on sun screen well. We are al busy tidying rooms and packing now, ready for our final activities in the morning. Everyone is doing great and there is no need for anyone to be worrying. A few tired tears here and there but generally everyone is doing great. PS. Just to say, every effort is made to make sure everyone is included in photos but it isn't possible to fully track that through the day and then edit 100+ photos down to the final selection so hopefully everyone is happy with what is posted. :)

Day 1

24 excited P6 and P7 boys and girls set off to the Share Discovery Village this morning at just after 9.15am. The bus journey took around 90 minutes and we arrived shortly before 11.00am. A quick tour around and explanation of rules etc and we were all set for our first activity....making our own beds. It was certainly an experience and the boys especially found it quite a challenge to put a bed sheet over a mattress! We then met for a lunch of hot dog and chips before heading our for our first activity. The first activity was all on the lake. Both groups all had a go at canoeing and towables. The towables was amazing fun. The children were towed at high speed sitting on top of a large inflatable. Everyone had the chance for a couple of goes and they all really enjoyed it and faced some fears. For the caoeing they were in boats of 6 children and two adults and everyone canoed out onto the lake. We stopped at the other shore line and played some games and had a splash in the water. When both activities were finished some of the children had fun jumping in from the end of the pier. We then made our way back for our dinner around 5.30pm. We had al little wait until our evening activity at 8.00pm. This was nightline. Children were blindfolded and led around a path through the grounds of the centre. We have been extremely lucky with the weather which has been amazing. The overall standard of behaviour has been very good and everyone is having a great time. As i write this at 10.30, everyone is in rooms and most are now asleep...

Portadown Music Festival

We have a long tradition of success at the Portadown Music Festival here in Mullavilly. However following interuptions due to Covid we haven't entered any categories for the last few years. This year we thought it was time to start entering again and 5 of our P4 pupils entered into the P4 boys and girls solo categories.
They all performed very well, with the girls coming away with a certificate and two other very well scored performances that just missed out on the prizes.
Our boys did amazingly well to come away with 2 second placed medals. We are all very proud of their efforts and hope to build on this success next year with even more entries.
Thank you to Mrs Jackson for all her work getting the children ready for the festival.

Friends of Mullavilly Quiz 2025

Thank you to all of our local businesses for kindly dontaing to the raffle. Thanks also to Ballylisk, McGrane Nurseries and Frankie's Hair for kindly sponsoring the event. Thank you to our Friends of Mullavilly group for helping to organise such a successful event and to the members of staff who attended as part of teams or to help score. We managed to raise an amaing £680.

High School Musical was a Hit!

This morning, KS2 pupils really enjoyed their experience of a stage production called ‘High School Musical’ in Clounagh Junior High School! Our KS2 pupils’ step into secondary school and teenage life is not far away… It was a lovely treat before a well-deserved half term break. We especially enjoyed clapping along with the well-known songs and seeing around the school. Thank you to Clounagh for having us!
