Home Learning (Restored January 2021) 

The following page was removed from the website in August 2020 with the return of children to school. Following yesterday's announcement that schools are to close and teach remotely until the half term holidays we thought we would restore the page for you to use as you wish. Some of the content is possibly now out of date but we wil endeavor to update the page and add new content where possible. 

CBBC and BBC Bitesize 

We highlighted back in April the fantastic new content BBC bitesize had added to help with Home Learning. The bitesize videos, explanations and games are used regularly in school. The BBC announced yesterday (5/1/20) that they are increasing their support of Home Learning again for the current school closures. They are putting 3 hours of Primary School lessons onto CBBC every morning of the school closure period. this is alongside the fantastic Bitesize resource that you can access by clicking the picture. 

SAFER SCHOOLS APP

Youth Online - Stay Safe, Stay Well 

The Education Authority Youth Online service has a fantastic page dedicated to giving parents and children guidance and support in their health and well being while being at home. There is a range of materials including storybooks, safer schools info, definitions and a video explaing the current situation using Makaton. Please click picture for link.

Oxford Island have begun a new Mini Beast Hunt activity for children to do at home. The first one is about worms and new hunts will be posted regularly over the coming weeks. Primary 3 were due to take part in minibeast hunts on their school trip but this is also appropriate for all ages. (Please click picture above for link to their facebook page).

NEW 20th April 2020 - BBC Bitesize has launced new daily lessons in Literacy, Numeracy and also Science, History etc for every year group. Including videos, interactive activities and more.
